Regarding the purchase of a
Companion Puppy: We will have
an older male puppy available and a couple of girls that are retiring.
Please contact us for details.
Thank you so much for your interest in our dogs. Let me tell you a little
about the process of getting a Companion Puppy from Chriscendo. First
of all, please understand we are not a large commercial breeding operation.
We do not make our living from our dogs. Each one of these puppies is
very special to us; all of our puppies are raised in our kitchen, and
are a part of our “family”. While we cannot interview each and every
person who calls or emails us wanting a puppy we have tried to narrow
it down to people who are truly interested in having a Chriscendo puppy.
We can usually provide you with a puppy within 6 months, if this is
not suitable, we are not for you. For females the wait may be slightly
longer, as we do want to keep a few girls each year to replace our older
girls and other breeders are always interested in them.
If you are still interested please answer the questionnaire below so
that we can get to know you and your home situation a little better.
We prefer to meet each prospective new owner and their family before
they get their puppy, but we understand if you are not in the area and
have no plans to come and pick up your puppy. We prefer to not have
to ship 12 week old puppies, but sometimes our prospective puppy owners
are not close enough to travel to us to get their puppy. We have also
decided to not take names/deposits from anyone outside of Canada. We
usually do not sell to families with very small children (under the
age of 5 or 6) but we are happy to make an exception if the child or
children, demonstrate they are able to handle a Pom properly. We feel
that as parents, you are ultimately the best people to make that decision.
Once
you fill out this questionnaire (email us for a questionaire) it is
easier for us to understand what kind of a home you are willing to provide
for one of our puppies. After reviewing your answers, and we are happy
that you can provide a wonderful, loving and forever home to one of
our puppies, you can then send a $200 (non-refundable) deposit. You
can send it by e transfer to our info@chriscendo.com by regular mail
or bank transfer.) (Please note that without a deposit, you are not
on our Waiting List.)
The 2023/4 price of our puppies is $3000.00 minus your $200 prepaid
deposit.) If we have to ship to you there is of course, an additional
charge that would include, the cost of a crate ($80) shipping charges
depending on where you are located and a vet certificate to travel.
We can arrange shipping and will contact you with the information and
complete charges.
We have been breeding top quality show and breeding Poms for more than
40 years. The dogs we sell as companions, may look as beautiful as the
top winning dogs on our website, and they have been raised and evaluated
along with our puppy we are keeping for shows and breeding but at the
end of their 12 weeks evaluations, we have determined that some will
be Companions and not to be used for showing or breeding. While the
differences can not always be seen, small things like a white toe or
crooked tooth or slightly over the Show weight may determine a puppy
to be a Companion.
Each and every puppy is bred to very high standard of
excellence, intelligence, conformation and health, but no one is perfect.
The Pomeranian breed has a few serious, hereditary defects. Bad breeding
has produced defective hearts and knees, open skulls, collapsed tracheas,
all of which can cause early and painful deaths in Poms. We have worked
very hard to eliminate these and other serious hereditary defects from
our breeding stock. We Health Test all our Breeding Stock for Hearts,
Eyes and Patellas and continue to breed happy, healthy Poms with sound
bodies and minds. That is not to say they are all perfect, but when
you buy a Pom from us, you are buying that same reputation and careful
breeding that makes our dogs sought after all over the world. You do
not get this from someone who breeds two dogs of unknown parentage together
“just for a litter of puppies”.
We are also here for you for the life of your Pom. If
you have a problem, call us at any time in your dog’s life, we will
be happy to offer help, suggestions and even a second opinion if you
need one. While we are not perfect, we usually have seen a similar problem
and can offer a suggestion. We always want to know if there are any
problems as well as reporting on the good things that happen with you
and your Pom throughout his/her life. We of course love to hear about
those!
We also require each Pom sold as a Companion to be spayed
or neutered by one year of age. You are not purchasing Breeding Rights
with a Companion Pom, and you have to sign a legal agreement that ensures
you understand you will face fines and serious repercussions should
you ever breed your Pom, whether by mistake or intentionally. Failure
to do this or providing sufficient care and food, makes any guarantee
you have with us, null and void. Each person buying a companion must
also sign a Non Breeding Agreement, which is registered with the Canadian
Kennel Club. before you receive their registration papers. This is a
legal and binding agreement.
We hope we have explained our position clearly but if you have any further
questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. |
